Jenna Ortega has arrived on tonight’s Met Gala red carpet in a prep school-meets-Wednesday-inspired Thom Browne corset dress. It’s a fitting follow-up to her so-called goth glam aesthetic, for which the Scream actress has made black the new...well, Valentino pink. Anne Hathaway did just that with her ensemble: a body-hugging white tweed Versace gown. (Tweed, of course, was one of the fabrics Lagerfeld used over and over.) The strapless piece included sultry cutouts on the torso—with one extended into a thigh-high leg slit. The cutouts were held together by the Italian fashion house's iconic gold safety pins. Kendall Jenner had a certain pressure to deliver a bold red carpet look. After all, the model had a personal relationship with designer Karl Lagerfeld, who was being honored for the evening. Jenner walked in many of the late designer’s shows for Fendi and Chanel over the years, and she was once one of Lagerfeld’s coveted Chanel brides when she walked in the label’s fall 2015 couture show (she emerged in a chic white tuxedo look, complete with a long tulle train).

The Met Gala has come and gone, but the memories will live on forever. This year's theme, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," was a fitting tribute to the legendary designer who once helmed fashion houses like Chanel, Fendi, and his eponymous line. As usual, the event attracted a star-studded guest list of A-listers from the worlds of film, music, fashion, and more.

The Met Gala is often referred to as the "Super Bowl of fashion," and for good reason. The red carpet looks are always some of the most memorable (and viral) celebrity fashion moments of the year. This year was no exception, with attendees asked to dress "in honor of Karl." Some chose to pay homage to the late designer's classic Chanel tweeds and black-and-white uniform, while others went for more eccentric looks that only the elite could pull off.

Cardi B wore a structured ballgown by Chenpeng Studio, which began with a white shirt collar and tie before transitioning into a fitted black sweetheart bodice adorned with silver studs. The full black skirt featured a quilted overlay a la Chanel's Boy Bag, and was covered in huge sculptural rosettes.

The official Met Gala co-hosts, including Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa, and Vogue's Anna Wintour, were all in attendance. And while the co-hosts looked stunning in their own right, it was the rest of the guest list that really stole the show. From Zendaya's mesmerizing, lit-up gown to Lupita Nyong'o's leather tribute to Lagerfeld, the red carpet looks did not disappoint.

Dua Lipa appeared on the carpeted steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a 1992 white tweed ball gown by Chanel with a flattering basque waist, woven black trim, and a fringe hem (the piece was originally worn by Claudia Schiffer!). Lipa also dripped in diamonds from Tiffany & Co. She is now the first person to ever wear the legendary Lucida Star Necklace (which is reportedly worth more than $10 million) reset with a diamond that mirrors the proportions of the world renowned Tiffany Diamond, one of the largest yellow diamonds in the world. The piece alone features over 100 carats of brilliant-cut white diamonds.

Of course, we can't forget about Sydney Sweeney, who was a standout in a breathtaking gown that had everyone talking. And let's not overlook the surprise appearance of Rihanna, who stunned in a shimmering silver gown and matching hat. Beyoncé also turned heads in a bold black-and-white dress that perfectly captured the essence of the theme.

All in all, the 2023 Met Gala was another unforgettable event. We can't wait to see what next year's theme will be and who will turn up in style on the famous Met steps. But for now, let's bask in the glory of this year's stunning fashion moments.
